Hoppity Hollow Hunt

Tickets are $2 per hunt per child

Tickets are $2 per child when purchased as an add-on to your Mega Creatures Day session tickets.
Children with pre-purchased hunt tickets* can participate in the Hoppity Hollow Hunt from 9:30am to 3pm during the Easter long weekend and search for nominated eggs with the numbers 1,2 and 3. Once the child finds one of each number, they can present them to our staff at the end of the path to claim their Easter chocolate.

Thrill and fun await with our exciting rides!

Add an extra spark of excitement to your visit with our amazing rides, operating daily during Mega Creatures from 10am to 3:30pm. Tickets are $6 per ride, or grab a bonus 6-ride pass for $30! Tickets can be purchased at the ride ticket booth in the event area. Last ride 3:15pm. Please note: Height and age restrictions apply.

Tea Cups

Join the tea party at our fantastic Tea Cups ride. Twist, twirl and have fun in giant coloured tea cups. Once won’t be enough!

Swing Chair

Thrill seekers will love our flying Swing Chair. Feel the wind in your hair and get your adrenaline pumping as you fly 11 metres above the ground.

Carousel

Experience our beautiful traditional Venetian Carousel, a firm favourite, this feature was made in Italy to our design.

Ferris Wheel

Relax and take in the view of the Gardens and surrounding countryside from 25 metres high in our spectacular Ferris Wheel. Suitable for all ages.

Superslide

Grab one of our mats enjoy the excitement of speeding down this thrilling ride. Standing 12 metres high and a massive 35 metres long, our Superslide is a whole lot of fun.

    Easter at Hunter Valley Gardens takes place on the Easter long weekend during Mega Creatures event. Hoppity Hollow Hunt is available on a single session per day from 9:30am to 3pm during the Easter long weekend.

  • Do you need to book tickets for the Hoppity Hollow Hunt?

    Tickets are $2 per child.
    General guests:

    • Pre‑purchase Hunt tickets online when you buy your Mega Creatures Day tickets.
    • Or show a ride ticket at the Event Marquee on the day to join the Hunt.

    Annual Pass holders:

    • Show your Hunter Valley Gardens Family Annual Pass at the Gardens Entry to buy Hunt tickets on the day.
    • Hunt tickets at Entry are only available to Annual Pass holders.

  • What are the ticket prices?

    Easter weekend occurs during our Mega Creatures event. Tickets need to be purchased online for the Mega Creatures Day Session on Easter long weekend dates: Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April 2026. The Easter Egg Hunt tickets are $2 and must be added to the online checkout basket.

  • Can I leave the event at Hunter Valley Gardens and come back?

    Yes, pass outs are allowed providing you leave and return the same day the ticket is dated. See Garden Entry prior to exiting the Gardens.

  • Do you have to pay for the activities once inside the Gardens?

    Tickets are $2 per hunt session per child.  The rides are all user pay. These include Superslide, Swing Chair, Carousel, Ferris Wheel and Tea Cups. Rides are $6 per ride or you can purchase a bonus 6 ticket pass for $30, tickets can be purchased at the rides booth. Height and age restrictions apply.

  • Is HVG accessible to everyone?

    Hunter Valley Gardens is located on a 14-hectare site. The garden paths are over 8km of crushed granite pathways throughout the Gardens, making most areas accessible for wheelchairs.
    Please note, while the majority of our pathways are wheelchair-friendly, some lookouts and specific areas like the Italian Grotto have stairs, limiting accessibility to those parts. Additionally, as an outdoor space, our paths can be affected by weather and the natural landscape, which may result in uneven surfaces and steep inclines.

  • Are there wheelchairs for hire?

    No, we do not have any wheelchairs for hire. You are welcome to bring your own.

  • Are there any guided tours of the Gardens?

    No, there are no guided tours through the Gardens.

  • What happens if it rains?

    Easter at Hunter Valley Gardens is an outdoor activity and is subject to changing weather conditions. We do our very best to make sure the activities remain open, which means the activities will continue in the case of rain and will only be cancelled if the weather conditions are considered dangerous by event management.
    Changes to tickets must be requested 24 hours prior to the booked date by visiting http://bit.ly/Booking_update
    The team will get back to you as soon as possible during business hours Monday to Friday.
    We strongly recommend you bring your own wet weather gear. The use of umbrellas is accepted.
    If the activity is cancelled for any reason, the information will be posted on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/huntervalleygardens, and an SMS will be sent to all ticket holders using the phone number attached to the booking.
    Hunter Valley Gardens will take all reasonable efforts to notify of a cancellation ASAP, however, due to the unpredictability of a change in weather conditions, cancellations may be at short notice.

  • What food options are available from the food stalls within the Gardens?

    The Garden Terrace Café is open from 9:30am to 3:30pm and the event food stalls are open from 9:30am to 3:30pm and from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. The food stalls offer meals and snacks, such as loaded fries, burgers, kids' meals: burgers, nuggets and chips, fish and chips, ice creams, assorted soft drinks, juice and water, and so much more.

Mega Creatures Group Rates & Functions

Discounted group rates are available for groups of 12 or more adults visiting Mega Creatures or Mega Creatures Night Safari. These rates are ONLY available via our Group Sales Team and must be purchased in advance. No group discounts are available at entry. For any function enquiries please contact our Group Sales Team.

*Hoppity Hollow Hunt is available on a single session per day from 9:30am to 3pm during the Easter long weekend. Tickets are $2 per hunt session per child. Tickets can be pre-purchased online as an add-on to your Mega Creatures Day session tickets, or you can present a ride ticket at the Event Marquee. Children with tickets can present to the Event Marquee for the Hunt at any time during the Hunt session. Admission charges apply. Hunter Valley Gardens recommends guests purchase tickets on our website prior to arrival. Tickets (except Group tickets) are available through our website or at the Gardens entry.
