COVID-19 Conditions of Entry

At Hunter Valley Gardens the health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority. We would like to reassure everyone that we follow strict health and safety regulations and are adopting increased recommendations from the NSW Government as outlined below.

NSW Minister for Health and Medical Research the Honourable Brad Hazzard MP has granted the Gardens an exemption under the Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order (no 5) 2020 under the Public Health Act 2020. The Gardens will now have a capacity of 5000 attendees at any one time.

We are aware this may cause some disruption to our guest’s experience but, please be mindful our staff are following guidelines set in the above document. We will do our utmost to minimise the impact on our guest’s experience, however, there may be times we have to restrict entry to the venue.

All guests as a condition of entry must register their details via the QR code displayed and present the confirmation to staff at entry. Contact details will be stored electronically for 28 days. If, for some reason this is not possible, staff will record these details and enter them into an online register. All guest details will be held electronically for a period of 28 days and passed on to authorities if requested. These details will NOT be used for marketing purposes.

  • Any guests that displays flu like symptoms will be refused entry.
  • Any guest that feels unwell is asked to stay home.
  • All guests must comply with directions from COVID-19 Safety Marshalls.
  • All guests must comply with all COVID-19 related restrictions
  • During your visit to the Gardens, you must follow social distancing guidelines with 1.5 metres separation between each other unless you are members of the same household or close contacts.
  • The wearing of face masks is recommended for use where physical distancing is not able to be maintained.
  • Groups of more than 30 persons are not allowed.

General Conditions of Entry

At Hunter Valley Gardens we endeavour to provide exhibits that complement the vegetation in our Gardens. Hunter Valley Gardens has water features that are not fenced including moats, waterways and elevated walkways that can be dangerous. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times while visiting the Gardens.

Entry to Hunter Valley Gardens is granted by presenting a printed or digital ticket or with valid identification.

It is an express condition of your entry and your participation in the activities conducted by Hunter Valley Gardens that you do hereby, for yourself, your heirs, executors, assigns and next-of-kin and each of them release, waive and discharge Hunter Valley Gardens, its officers, directors, agents and employees of and from all liability, claims or demands for all injuries, losses, damages of any kind or nature to your person or property or to that of any minor under your supervision, while on the property of Hunter Valley Gardens.

  • All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Tickets may be refunded or exchanged for another day/session, depending on availability, strictly up to 48 hours prior to the booked session by emailing – bookings@hvg.com.au
    The team will get back to you as soon as possible during business hours.
  • Lost, damaged and stolen tickets may be replaced upon proof of purchase (original receipt).
  • No filming or photography for commercial purposes should be carried out in the Gardens without prior written consent from Hunter Valley Gardens.
  • Drones are not permitted for use on the Hunter Valley Gardens property without prior written consent from Hunter Valley Gardens.
  • No picnicking.
  • No BYO alcoholic beverages.
  • No pets.
  • No skateboards/rollerblades/skates/scooters.
  • No pushbikes.
  • While visiting the Gardens you may be filmed or photographed for marketing purposes.
  • In some areas of the Gardens there is CCTV surveillance.

Hunter Valley Gardens reserves the right to refuse entry to any person who does not comply with the conditions of entry. Management reserves the right to refuse entry and eject persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol, who are disorderly, or engage in inappropriate behaviour, vandalism or evade admission. Management reserves the right to inspect any bags, clothing and other items at all entry points or within the gardens at any time. Management reserves the right to refuse entry to patrons carrying a prohibited item. Persons 15 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times whilst in Hunter Valley Gardens.

Online Tickets

Terms & Conditions

Entry to Hunter Valley Gardens is granted by presenting a printed or digital ticket with identification for concession or local tickets.

Christmas Lights Spectacular tickets are for single use only and are sold separately to general Garden entry tickets.

Online tickets are only available at huntervalleygardens.com.au, tickets purchased from third-party resellers will not be accepted at Garden entry.

Tickets must be used for the day booked. Due to capacity restrictions if you arrive on a different day to your booking, we may not be able to allow you entry.

The Gardens will be open during the day from 9am – 5pm as per normal opening hours. The Gardens will then reopen for Christmas Lights Spectacular between 6:30pm – 10:30pm. No entry will be permitted between 5pm – 6:30pm.

Christmas Lights Spectacular season runs from the 5th November 2020 until 26th January 2021.

Lost, damaged and stolen tickets may be replaced, upon proof of purchase (original receipt or valid identification) by emailing bookings@hvg.com.au

If you do not use your ticket on the specified day, the value of that ticket will become null.
Handle your E-Ticket as you would cash and do not buy from or attempt to sell to anyone an E-Ticket – it has no resale value.

Annual ticket holders will need to nominate a day if they wish to visit the Gardens during Christmas Lights Spectacular, email instructions will be sent out to each annual pass holder with further details.

Purchasing

Our method of tickets purchase is through the Hunter Valley Gardens website, with a major credit card. Your account will be debited at the time of ordering and payment processing fees may apply, reflecting bank fees and administration costs charged to Hunter Valley Gardens for credit card transactions. All prices include GST.

All credit card purchases are made through the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s (CBA) secure payment facility. Payment information is securely and confidentially processed by the CBA. Hunter Valley Gardens does not have access to card details. If you believe any unauthorised use of your credit card has occurred, please notify the Gardens by email and contact your bank directly.

When purchasing online, the customer is agreeing to give access to their name, email address, post code and any other personal information entered (excluding payment details) to Roche Group and their subsidiaries, including but not limited to Hunter Valley Gardens. These details will be held confidentially by Roche Group and used for processing, marketing and research purposes only. No details will be passed on to a third party.

No tickets will be available to be purchased over the phone.

Accessing and Presenting E-Tickets

Once purchased online, the customer will receive an email including ticket details and barcode. This must be presented at Garden Entry by way of print or digital ticket. The barcode must be seen to obtain entry.

Failure to present ticket or a valid ID upon entry will result in non-entry to the Gardens.

To avoid problems in receiving your email purchase confirmation, ensure that you enter a valid email address and check that your inbox spam filter will not block Hunter Valley Gardens content. Please allow up to sixty minutes for the email purchase confirmation to arrive.

Hunter Valley Gardens reserves the right to adjust operating hours without prior notice.

Refund Policy – Both Tickets & Online E-Tickets.

In the event that Hunter Valley Gardens needs to close due to a severe weather event, ticket holders will be offered a change of date (subject to availability) or a refund.

Rides

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be 3 rides available during Christmas Lights Spectacular – The Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Teacup Ride. Rides are an additional cost to the standard entry fee – Single ride tokens will be available for $5 each. Unlimited rides wristbands are not available. All rides are subject to height and age restrictions. Rides tokens are only available at the ticket booth in the rides area, payment is by EFTPOS only, no cash will be accepted.

Rides will be cleaned hourly.

Rides will close at 10pm.

In the event of adverse weather, the rides may be closed for safety reasons.

To go on the rides, the following conditions must be met:

  • Carousel – Children below 105cm must ride with an adult (adult must stand next to child).
  • Tea Cup – Children between 95cm – 120cm must ride with an adult, a ticket must be purchased for each person. The ride is not suitable for children under the age of 2 years. Maximum height is 195cm.
  • Ferris Wheel – children bellow 120cm must ride with an adult.
  • Children must be supervised at all times.
