From Saturday 26 September to Sunday 11 October 2026, bloom into spring with a vibrant, family day out set among a breathtaking seasonal Gardens.

Wander through ten themed gardens bursting with colour while enjoying a range of interactive and educational attractions. Get up close with a live butterfly aviary, meet adorable baby lambs, discover the fascinating world of bees, and enjoy fun family activities including daisy chain making and face painting.

Green thumbs of all levels will find inspiration in garden displays, horticultural talks, bonsai workshops and can shop the HVG nursery for a selection of garden-ready plants and flowers to take home.

Pack a picnic rug and enhance your day with a gourmet hamper from the Garden Terrace Café. Find the perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the Gardens.
Our amazing amusement rides will be operating throughout the school holidays to add to the excitement.*

Amphitheatre Aviary

Step into a world of wonder at the Amphitheatre Aviary where the Butterfly House is fluttering with colours and watch your little ones light up with joy with the gentle beauty of butterflies, in this magical space made for springtime fun!
Butterfly House daily from 10am-2pm. Butterfly roving character weekends from 10am-2pm.

Rose Garden

During spring our Rose Garden is bursting with blooms. In this beautiful Garden, children will love getting into the spirit of spring by having their face painted; from butterflies and superheroes to flowers and mystical creatures, the possibilities are endless. Enjoy the excitement and joy of their little smiles when they discover their reflection with a beautifully painted design, then get creative with Wood Painting. Don’t miss the daily History of the Gardens Guided tour, presented by members of our talented Horticulture Team. Face Painting daily from 10am-2pm. Wood Painting daily from 10am-2 pm. History of the Gardens Guided Tour daily from 12:30pm.

HVG Nursery at Rose Garden

Explore our Pop-Up Nursery and give kids a hands-on introduction to the magic of growing plants. Let them purchase a plant of their own and learn how to care for it; watering, sunlight and watching it grow. It’s a fun and interactive way to teach children about responsibility, patience and the beauty of nurturing a living thing. With helpful staff and plenty of garden inspiration around, it’s the perfect spot to spark a lifelong love of nature and gardening. HVG Nursery Stall daily from 9am-2pm.

Oriental Garden

Take a peaceful stroll through the Oriental Garden and discover daily activities like Lantern Making, Koi Feeding Talk each morning and Bonsai Displays. On weekends, enjoy Bonsai Educational Talks and Workshop. Lantern Making daily from 10am-2pm. Koi Feeding Talk and Feed weekdays at 11am. Bonsai Display daily from 10am-2pm. Bonsai Educational Talk weekdays at 12pm. Bonsai Workshop weekends from 10am-2pm.

Lakes Walk

Spring comes alive along the Lakes Walk with Baby Lambs to meet and Daisy Chain Making, perfect for little hands. Everything you need to know about bees and on 3 and 4 October, catch the delightful Model Sail Boats. Baby Lambs daily from 10am-2pm. Daisy Chain Making daily 9am-2pm. Live Bee Demonstrations and Display Case weekends 11am-2pm. Bee Stall (local honey and bee related products) weekends 11am-2pm. Rolled Bees Wax Candles Workshop weekends 11am-2pm. Model Sail Boats 3 and 4 October 10am-2pm.

Indian Mosaic Garden

Add a splash of colour to your day in the Indian Mosaic Garden with weekend henna tattoos. Take in the charm of the Tea House Display open daily and join the Indian Mosaic Talk and Walk each day for a cultural journey through this stunning garden. Henna Tattoo weekends from 10am-2pm. Indian Mosaic Talk/Walk daily at 10am.

Garden Terrace Café

Enjoy a casual dining experience with a view of the Oriental Garden and the art installation by Australian artist Leanne Atkins. On the weekends pack a picnic rug and enhance your day with an HVG Spring hamper, perfect to find a spot and soak in the beauty of the season. Art installation daily from 9:30am-4pm. The Garden Terrace Café offers a fantastic range of food and beverage options, open daily between 9am-4pm. Enjoy hot and cold drinks at the coffee cart at Frog Pond from 9:30am to 4:30pm, and during the weekends enjoy a delicious Chai from 10am to 2pm in the Indian Mosaic Garden.

Thrill and fun await with our exciting rides!

Add an extra spark of excitement to your visit with our amazing rides, operating daily during Spring School Holidays from 10am to 2pm. Tickets are $6 per ride, or grab a bonus 6-ride pass for $30! Tickets can be purchased at the ride ticket booth in the event area. Ride ticket booth hours: 10am to 1:30pm. Last ride 1:45pm. Please note: Height and age restrictions apply.

Tea Cups

Join the tea party at our fantastic Tea Cups ride. Twist, twirl and have fun in giant coloured Tea Cups.

Swing Chair

Thrill-seekers will love our flying Swing Chair. Feel the wind in your hair and get your adrenaline pumping as you fly 11 metres above the ground.

Carousel

Experience our beautiful, traditional Venetian Carousel. A firm favourite, this feature was made in Italy to our design.

Ferris Wheel

Relax and take in the view of the Gardens and surrounding countryside from 25 metres high on our spectacular Ferris Wheel. Suitable for all ages.

Superslide

Grab one of our mats and enjoy the excitement of speeding down this thrilling ride. Standing 12 metres high and a massive 35 metres long, our Superslide is a whole lot of fun.

Group Rates

Discounted group rates are available for groups of 12 or more adults visiting Spring School Holidays. These rates are ONLY available via our Group Sales Team and must be purchased in advance. No group discounts are available at entry. For any function enquiries please contact our Group Sales Team.

Hunter Valley Gardens recommends guests purchase tickets on our website prior to arrival. Fraudulent tickets will not be honoured. Admission charges apply. Spring School Holidays activities are open during event hours only. Program subject to change. Terms and conditions of entry apply. *Rides are user pay; height and age restrictions apply. Some activities may not open in adverse weather conditions and unscheduled maintenance. Entry to the Gardens closes one hour before the completion of the session. Access to the entire Garden is available during Spring School Holidays.
