  • What are the opening hours and dates of Snow Time?

    Snow Time runs from Saturday 19th June to Sunday 18th July 2021.

    Each day:

    Garden entry open at 9am till 5pm
    Snow Time activities from 9:30am to 6pm – Last entry at 4pm
    Amusement Rides from 10am to 5pm – Last ride at 4:45pm

  • What additional free activities are available?

    Ice Skating rink, Giant Snow Cave, Ice Toboggan, Snow Time Play Zone and roaming entertainment.

  • Do you have to pay for the activities once inside the Gardens?

    The rides are user pay. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 not all our rides will be operating during Snow Time, but you can enjoy a spin on the amazing Tea Cup, Carousel, Swing Chair & Ferris Wheel! Unlimited ride wristbands are $20 per person and single use ride tokens are $6 each – height restrictions apply. These rides will be available from 10am till 5pm daily.

    Skating aids (Bobby Seals) will be available for hire for $5 each ONLY for children 6 years and under.

  • Can you pre-book ice skating sessions?

    Skating session tickets can only be reserved on the day at the ticket booth located outside the Ice Skating marquee. Please note, that session times operate on a first in/first served basis with a maximum capacity for each session. Ice skating is a free activity.

  • How long are the ice skating sessions?

    Ice skating sessions last 20 minutes. Please note, the ice staking rink will be closed for maintenance and cleaning for a period of time every day.

  • Can you book multiple ice skating sessions?

    Unfortunately no, due to limit capacities for each session you can only book one session per day.

  • What are the times of the last session you can book?

    Last session is from 5:30pm each day.

  • Do you have to bring your own ice skates?

    Hunter Valley Gardens provides ice skates in a range of sizes at no extra cost. If  you have your own skates you can bring them along. Children under the age of 6 years must wear a helmet and hair net. We provide helmets, however, you may bring your own helmet to ensure a correct fit for your child.

    Skating aids (Bobby Seals) will be available ONLY for children 6 years and under and cost $5 each, during their booked Ice skating session. Limited Seals available.

  • What do we need to do if we want to hire a Skating aid and they are not available for our session?

    You need to hire the seal at the same time you book your skating sessions, if they are no more available our staff can let you know when is the next session with seals available. Please note that sessions and seals operate on a first in/first served basis with limited capacity and limited skating aids available.

  • What should we wear to Snow Time?

    To keep warm and dry we recommend you wear weatherproof/waterproof clothing including gloves, jackets, pants and shoes, especially for smaller children who will be sitting in the Snow Play Zone. We also recommend you bring along an extra set of clothing and a towel.

  • Are there any physical restrictions on the Snow Time activities?

    Ice Skating Rink - Children under 6 years of age MUST wear a helmet and a hair net (we highly recommend helmets for all child skaters). Children under 5 years must be accompanied by an adult on the ice.

    With ice skating, skaters may fall over from time to time. Whilst most falls are harmless, there is always the possibility, as with any sport, that a fall may result in an injury. Skaters should wear protective helmets (You can bring your own helmet). Skaters are also encouraged to wear Roller Blading elbow, knee pads and wrist guards to minimize injury.

    Ice Toboggan - Riders must be seated in a tube and we recommend children under 4 years of age are accompanied by an adult. Adults and children can ride together but no two children or two adults can ride on the same ring.

  • Are there any guided tours of the Gardens during the day?

    Unfortunately, our train will not be available during Snow Time.

  • Can you see the Gardens without the activities for Snow Time?

    The entry ticket includes the activities of Snow Time. However, you can see the Gardens from 9am till 5pm. After 5pm the Gardens will be closed but the Snow Time activities will continue until 6pm.

  • Can you leave Snow Time and come back?

    Yes, you can as long as you return the same day the ticket is dated. See Garden Entry for details.

  • Where can I buy tickets to Snow Time?

    Tickets can be purchased online at subject to availability.

    Snow Time tickets are for single use only and are only valid for the date booked.

    Single ride tokens will be available for $6 each. Unlimited rides wristbands will be available for $20 each and are not transferrable.

    All rides are in addition to entry and can be purchased at the ticket booth located in the event area.

  • What method of payment is accepted?

    Tickets will be available to purchase online, subject to availability. Please make sure you correctly CHOOSE your preferred date when selecting your tickets. No tickets will be available to be purchased over the phone.

  • Until what time can I purchase tickets online?

    We strongly recommend purchasing your tickets with time in advance to avoid disappointment. The online sales for Snow Time closes at 2pm daily.

  • Can I use my Discover voucher for Snow Time?

    Yes, we will be accepting Dine and Discover vouchers until the 31st July 2021. The Discover voucher cannot be redeemed for online ticket purchases, and can only be redeemed for tickets purchased at the Garden entry gates on the day of redemption. Alternatively, you can use the Discover voucher for rides tokens or unlimited wristbands. Vouchers can be used 7 days a week until 31st July 2021. For more information, please visit

    NSW Discover vouchers cannot be redeemed online.

  • What if I cannot attend the date I have booked?

    Subject to availability, we can alter the date of your booking, but you will need to contact the bookings department at least 24 hours in advance to do this. Please email or fill this online form Alternatively, call on 4998 4020. The team will get back to you as soon as possible during business hours Monday to Friday.

  • Do I need to print my tickets?

    We recommend printing tickets. However mobile tickets are also accepted. Tickets are able to be retrieved at entry upon presentation of identification. If tickets cannot be presented/retrieved at the gate, this will result in non-entry.

  • Can you purchase tickets from entry on the day of your visit?

    Subject to availability, you may be able to purchase tickets at entry during the day of your visit. However, we strongly recommend purchasing all your tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment.

  • Can I use my ticket to visit on a different day from the date I booked?

    No. Snow Time tickets are valid for the date selected only.

  • What happens if it rains?

    Snow Time is an outdoor activity and is subject to changing weather conditions. We do our very best to make sure the activities can remain open, which means the activities will continue in the case of rain and will only be cancelled if the weather conditions are considered dangerous by event management.

    Please note that changes to booking should be made with at least with 24 hours prior to the booked session, by using this form or emailing The team will get back to you as soon as possible during business hours Monday to Friday.

    We strongly recommend you bring your own wet weather gear. The use of umbrellas is accepted.

    Hunter Valley Gardens will take all reasonable efforts to notify of a cancellation ASAP, however, due to the unpredictability of a change in weather conditions, cancellations may be at short notice.

    If the activity is cancelled for any reason, the information will be posted on our Facebook page. and an SMS sent to all ticket holders that provided a mobile phone number during the ticket purchase process.

  • Why does the event close in inclement weather?

    We do our best to run Snow Time at all advertised times, however sometimes due to adverse weather conditions that are occurring we have to close the event as it is a health and safety risk.

    PLEASE NOTE: we work very hard to open each day and will do everything in our power to ensure the event runs as planned.

  • I have purchased an online ticket, and it didn’t arrive, what is the next step?

    Most of the time tickets that have not been received are either caught by your email spam filters or the email address was incorrectly entered. If your tickets have not arrived, please use this form or email before your date of arrival. The team will get back to you as soon as possible during business hours Monday to Friday.

    If you have lost your ticket, please proceed to Garden Entry with your valid identification where a staff member will be able to look up your order at entry.

  • What is HVG’s activities refund policy?

    Refunds or changes of day and session will only be accepted up to 24 hours in advance of the booked day/session using this form or via email to A new ticket will be issued for the revised session.

  • Can we use our entertainment card voucher to book Snow Time tickets?

    The entertainment card voucher doesn't apply to school holiday and event periods, including Snow Time.

  • How do you reprint your online tickets?

    Online tickets are emailed to the email address you provided. If you have not received your tickets, please check your spam/junk mail. If your tickets can not be located, you may have entered the wrong email address. Please contact us at for further assistance.


  • What are the rides?

    Our amusement rides bring an added element of fun to the Gardens for both the young and young at heart. Children must be supervised at all times whilst on the rides.

    Due to COVID-19 restrictions we will only be operating the Tea Cup, Carousel, Swing Chair & Ferris Wheel during Snow Time.

    Rides will not operate during adverse weather conditions as determined by the ride operator.

  • When are the rides available to use?

    Our rides are available to use from 10am to 5pm. Last ride at 4:45pm.

  • Who can go on the rides?

    Ferris Wheel: Children below 120cm must ride with an adult.

    Carousel: Children below 105cm must ride with an adult (adult must stand next to child).

    Tea Cup: Children between 95cm - 120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.

    Swing Chair: Children between 110cm – 120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.

    Children must be supervised at all times.

  • Are there any physical restrictions on using the rides?

    Our rides are subject to safety requirements that a user must meet to participate. Key height restrictions are listed below, but other conditions can be found on the safety requirements signage at each of the rides.

    Ferris Wheel: Children below 120cm must ride with an adult.

    Carousel: This ride is for children only. Children below 105cm must ride with an adult (adult must stand next to child).

    Tea Cup: Not suitable for children younger than 2 years and under 95cm. Children between 95cm-120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.

    Swing Chair: Children between 110cm-120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.

    PLEASE NOTE: Heights are checked at each individual ride and access will be approved by the operator.

  • What if I have a baby, do they have to pay?

    Babies 18 months and below are permitted to ride with adults on the Ferris Wheel for free. They must have a token for the Carousel.

  • Do carers with companion cards have to pay to ride?

    No, carers who present a companion card at the rides ticket booth are able to get the same pass as their client or child for free.

  • Rides closures

    Safety is of the utmost importance to us. Due to weather and maintenance, we may temporarily close the rides at times for customer safety, however we do endeavour to have them open again as soon as possible.

  • How much is a wristband?

    Unlimited rides wristbands are $20 each.

  • Can we share a wristband?

    Wristbands are not transferrable. Is one per person only.

  • What does it include?

    The wristband entitles the user to unlimited access (height dependant) to all the rides, Ferris Wheel, Tea Cup, Swing Chair or Carousel.

    Wristbands must be visible at all times and can be purchased at the ticket booth in the ride area only. Tickets can only be purchased via EFTPOS – no cash will be accepted.

  • Can I use my Discover voucher to purchase wristbands?

    Yes, you can, but bear in mind that wristbands are $20 and neither you nor the business will receive the leftover amount. Any balance of funds is given up. Alternatively, you can use the Discover voucher for ride tokens or Garden entry. Please visit for more information.

  • How much is a token?

    One single use token is $6.

  • How much are the rides?

    One single use token is $6 each and unlimited wristbands are $20 per person and not transferrable.

  • What can I use the token on?

    The token/wristband can be used for one adult OR one child for one single ride on the Ferris Wheel, Tea Cup, Swing Chair or Carousel.

  • Is one token all I need for the Ferris Wheel for my family?

    Tokens/wristbands are per person, not per Gondola.

  • Do I need to purchase an additional token to ride with my child?

    All rides require a token/wristband per person. However, a parent may stand with a small child on the carousel ONLY at no additional cost.

  • Can I use my Discover voucher to purchase ride tokens?

    Yes, you can. Alternatively, you can use the Discover voucher for wristbands or Garden entry until 31st July 2021. Please visit for more information.

Food & Beverages

  • Can I bring my own drinks into Hunter Valley Gardens?

    You may bring bottled water into Hunter Valley Gardens. Alcohol and soft drinks are not permitted.

  • Can I buy food and drinks at Hunter Valley Gardens?

    Yes, our Garden Terrace Café will be open with take away options and limited seating. There will be food stalls in the event area.

  • Can I bring my own food into Hunter Valley Gardens?

    No food or picnics can be brought in to the Gardens, food is available in the Garden Terrace Café located at the entry to the Gardens and in the food stalls located in the event area. However, you can bring sealed bottled water.

  • I want to bring my own food.

    If you do not wish to purchase food in the Gardens, there is the option to enjoy a packed meal or BBQ in the park near the HVG Shopping Village. Prior to entering the Gardens.

  • What food do you have available during the event?

    The Garden Terrace Café is open daily from 9am to 5pm and will offer a range of winter treats to keep the whole family warm. In the food stalls located in the event area you can enjoy loaded fries, hotdogs, sausage rolls, pies, toasties, wood fire pizza, stuffed spuds, Greek food, Mexican food, desserts and donuts.

Conditions of Entry

  • Are there any conditions of entry due to COVID-19?

    Yes, we are following strict health and safety regulations and all the recommendations in place from the NSW Government. Guests will be required to check in via the NSW Government COVID-19 Safe app QR code prior to entry and present the confirmation page to a staff member for verification.

    During your visit to the Gardens, you must follow social distancing guidelines with 1.5 metres separation between each other unless you are members of the same household or close contacts. We follow strict hygiene practices and have COVID-19 Marshalls on site. Any guest displaying flu like symptoms will be refused entry.

  • Can I take my family pet, bike, skateboard, drone, rollerblades, or scooter inside Hunter Valley Gardens?

    In the interest of the public, all of the above are not permitted.

  • What happens to lost property?

    Lost property can be collected from Garden Entry or call 4998 4000. Items that are not claimed within 7 days will be discarded or donated to local charities.

  • Is HVG accessible to everyone?

    Hunter Valley Gardens is located on a 14-hectare site. The garden paths are approximately 8km and contain loose granite which can be navigated by wheelchairs. Please wear sensible footwear and take all necessary precautions to prevent injury to yourself.

  • Parking

    For visitors there is free parking available and limited disabled parking, displaying of a disability parking permit is required.

  • Guide dogs

    Registered guide dogs and companion dogs are allowed into the Gardens with their owners. Documentation for these animals is required upon entry.

  • Am I able to hire a wheelchair?

    No, we do not hire out wheelchairs.

  • Is HVG accessible to prams and strollers?

    Paths and ramps are wide enough to accommodate pedestrians, wheelchairs and strollers.

  • Do you accept the Companion Card for HVG?

    Yes. The Companion Card is a credit-card sized photo ID card issued to people with a disability who require lifelong attendant care. Please contact us via to book your day and session of visit. A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

  • Do you accept pensioners card, or do you have pensioners discount?

    We do not accept pensioner cards for these activities. However, we offer a Seniors discounted price.
