Mega Creatures Day Session

Mega Creatures at Hunter Valley Gardens is back! An awe-inspiring experience where imagination knows no bounds with fantastical mythical beasts, much-loved prehistoric creatures and spine-chilling giant insects.

Open 9am – 4pm (last entry 3pm)
Rides from 10am – 3:30pm

Mega Creatures Night Safari

If you’re brave enough, get ready to wander through a mythical night time landscape, where towering dinosaurs roam, mythical dragons soar, and otherworldly creatures come to life with dazzling lights as the sun sets.

All guests must exit the Gardens by 4pm, gates re-open at 5pm for Mega Creatures Night Safari.
Hunter Valley Gardens reserves the right to adjust operating hours without prior notice.
Tickets for Mega Creatures Day Session and Mega Creatures Night Safari can be purchased separately. For guests wishing to attend both events combo day/night tickets are available. Tickets are valid for nominated session only.

Dinosaur Egg Hunt

Can you find the missing dinosaur egg? Lost in our Gardens is one large dinosaur egg. Find the egg and return it to Mumma Dinosaur in Garden Entry to win a family pass to Snow Time in the Garden. One family pass to be won daily!

Erth’s Roving Baby Dinosaurs

Discover our resident Baby Dinosaurs! They just hatched and they come in all shapes and sizes. They are simply adorable! During School Holidays.

Erth’s Roving Leaellynasaurs (“Leaellyn’s lizard”)

Leaelly is a genus of small herbivorous ornithischian dinosaurs from the late Aptian to early Albian stage of the Early Cretaceous, around 118-110 million years ago. It was first discovered in Dinosaur Cove, Australia.

Bug Hunt Adventure

Embark on an exciting Bug Hunt Adventure through the Brumbies & Border Garden! Solve clever riddles and collect stamps along the way as you explore these areas. Perfect for curious minds and little explorers, this self-guided challenge offers a fun and interactive way to engage with Mega Creatures event. While there’s no prize at the finish line, the joy of discovery and the thrill of solving each clue make it an unforgettable experience for all ages. Ready to take on the challenge? Grab your stamp sheet at entry and let the hunt begin! Daily from 9am to 4pm.

Amusement Rides

Thrill and fun await with our exciting rides!

Tickets are $6 per person, per ride, or you can purchase a bonus 6 ticket pass for $30.
Day session rides from 10am – 3:30pm | Night Safari rides from 5:30pm – 8:30pm.

  • Tea Cups
    1x ticket per person per ride. Children between 95cm-120cm must ride with an adult (16+), 120cm and above may ride alone.
  • Superslide
    1x ticket per person per ride. Children between 110cm-120cm must ride with an adult (16+), 120cm and above may ride alone. A supervising adult (16+) does not require a ticket to ride with child.
  • Carousel
    1x ticket per person per ride. For children only. Children below 105cm must ride with an adult (16+). A supervising adult (16+) does not require a ticket to stand next to the child.
  • Swing Chair
    1x ticket per person per ride. Children between 110cm-120cm must ride with an adult (16+), 120cm and above may ride alone.
  • Ferris Wheel
    1x ticket per person per ride. Children below 120cm must ride with an adult.

Enjoy a delicious range of food and beverage options available in the event area, plus the Garden Terrace Café will be available during the day session.
